West Village Studio Apartment
This narrow studio apartment had undergone only minimal changes since it's initial purchase in the 1990's. As part of the apartment renovation, we designed the space to be as open as possible from front to back to visually enlarge the apartment.
Custom cabinets line portions of the apartment to demarcate uses, create private spaces, and store essentials. The resulting space is the most open toward the large windows at the end of the apartment while the smaller closet and bathroom spaces contain more storage at the rear.
Clean minimal details and a material palette of simple, muted finishes engender the space with a calm and inviting feeling. (photographs by Brian Berman)
