ABOUT pHdesign
pHdesign was founded in 2008 in a small space in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and has grown into a Lower Manhattan office near the South Street Seaport. The project types have also grown from small kitchen and bathroom renovations to include single family houses, condos, coops and mixed use projects. The firm focuses on the reuse of existing buildings while incorporating sustainable building practices and now includes the design of two Passive House projects - a ground up home in northern Michigan, and an EnerPHit project in Jersey City.
Anthony and Hilary met in their first architecture studio at the University of Michigan and married a year after graduation. They have collaborated on numerous projects over the years including contributions to publications, competitions, and the renovation of their own homes in Brooklyn and Jersey City (which have both been featured in Apartment Therapy).
Their full service New York-based architecture practice is focused on design that balances a response to unique existing conditions with modern interventions that meet individual owners’ needs. pHdesign pursues a collaborative design approach to every project, working closely with clients, designers, landscape architects, engineers, consultants and contractors.
