This east village mixed use building has two artists’ residence units, an office floor and a retail floor. The building was in rough shape, and needed an overhaul after various additions and alterations had compromised its’ systems. The mechanical infrastructure was completely changed out, along with a new stair to the roof, a new facade and storefront, a new cellar slab and storage space and new interiors on all of the floors. We preserved some of the existing building, but it is now ready for the next 100 years. (photographs by Marc Joseph Berg)
