WILLIAMSBURG TOWNHOUSE
This gut renovation of an existing townhouse in Williamsburg is a modest 12 feet wide with three stories and a cellar. Once the lapped siding was removed, the front facade could be returned to its original state, with brick and a cornice.
We kept the existing central stair configuration and created a master suite on the top floor by converting the rear room to a bath and walk-in closet. The second floor bathroom was renovated with a new laundry space adjacent which hides a mini-split heating and air conditioning system. On the ground floor, we added millwork and a guardrail around the stair and created a much more usable kitchen with a large glass door out to the rear yard. (photographs by Brian Berman)
